There are many methods to take a screenshot in Windows 10, but I'm going to show you 3 proper methods to take a screenshot in Windows 10 without third-party software.

Here are the proper methods to take a screenshot in Windows 10 computer:


Take a screenshot using Snipping Tool

1. Type "Snipping Tool" on the taskbar's search box, then click Open.

2. Click the New.

3. Drag the cursor to highlight the screen and release the cursor.

4. Click File, then click Save As and save it to your folder.

Apart from this, you can also take screenshots using different types of snips.


Here are the types of spins and their functions:

  • Free-form Snip: Draw a free-form shape with your cursor.
  • Rectangular Snip: Drag the cursor around an object in a rectangle shape.
  • Window Snip: Select a specific window you want to capture.
  • Full-screen Snip: Capture your entire screen.

1. Open Snipping Tool.


2. Click on the Mode, then select the snip type you want.

1. Type "Snip & Sketch" on the taskbar's search box, then click Open.

4. Drag the cursor to highlight the screen and release the cursor.


4. Click on the save icon and save it to your folder.

Take screenshot using Windows key + Print Screen key

1. Press Windows key and PrtScr key together to take a screenshot of full screen.


After pressing Windows key and PrtScr key together, your screenshot will be saved in the "Screenshots" folder of your computer's C drive.
